On Thursday 2nd August, a group of our participants had the opportunity to embark on a Work Experience Day at Adelaide Oval. The group assisted the Adelaide Oval staff in preparation for the Showdown on the weekend.
Daniel and Tiffany worked alongside the groundsmen, using the divot repair fork to repair the divots and even out the grass. They were excited to see where each team would enter the oval from on the day of the Showdown.
Suzanne and Aaron assisted the staff with setting tables in the Ian McLachlan Room for the dinner event. They learnt how to correctly set a table and saw ‘behind the scenes’ of what goes into preparing for an event.
Sogna and Debra did a wonderful job working together with staff at concierge to welcome and assist guests.
For people living with disability, work experience builds confidence and self-esteem while developing a positive attitude and eagerness to work. It was such a special day watching our participants learn new skills while enjoying each other’s company.
A big thank you to our friends at Adelaide Oval for having us!
