scosa recently welcomed Premier Jay Weatherill to our Pympton Hub, where he announced a new initiative to offer school based traineeships to Year 10 students to work in the growing disability sector.
As the Premier noted, “With the NDIS creating 6,000 jobs in South Australia, there are so many exciting opportunities to build a rewarding career in the sector.”
scosa Chief Executive, Julian Sawicki added, “Any initiative that will encourage more young people with the right values to build a career in the disability sector is strongly encouraged by scosa.”
The visit and announcement also provided a great opportunity for our scosa participants to meet with the Premier and Education Minister, Susan Close.
As you can see from the above image, young Kane was delighted to have a few words with the Premier.
