From 1 July 2017 the first round of scosa participants started transitioning to life under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
This coincided with the next major milestone of the NDIS rollout in South Australia, which will see a phased transition of adults to the NDIS, commencing with those persons aged 18 and over living in Adelaide’s northern suburbs – specifically the Local Government Areas of Playford, Salisbury, Port Adelaide Enfield (East), Barossa, Light and Lower North.
Especially if you live in one of these areas and are interested in learning how scosa can support you, we strongly encourage you to make contact with scosa’s Community Services Manager, Steve Wales, who is supporting families and carers with their NDIS preparations. Steve can be contacted by calling 8347 2664 during business hours, or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Steve can assist in discussing your needs, what should be in your NDIS plan, what to consider in preparing for your NDIS plan, and the development of a quote for scosa’s services under the NDIS. Please take this opportunity to talk to us to ensure that you are as well positioned as possible to get the best outcome from the NDIS for you or your loved one.
The Premier of South Australia, the Hon Jay Weatherill MP, was recently on hand at a community forum to highlight this major milestone in the evolution of the NDIS, and he was joined by scosa participant Jason, shown below, who also took the opportunity to say a few words to all those present.
