It is with great pleasure that scosa welcomes our new General Manager Services Delivery, Karen (Kaz) McMahon. Kaz takes on a role of great significance at scosa as we continue our transition to the NDIS while striving to be a quality provider of services that meet the diverse needs and expectations of our participants.
Kaz was born and raised in Melbourne and started her career in early childhood services, where she had a passion for promoting inclusion for children living with disabilities. She subsequently went onto manage a large Early Childhood & Inclusion Support Program, which was attended by 700 children with multiple and complex disabilities. Kaz has spent her career in community services, working across government and the not for profit sectors, and this experience will prove invaluable as we navigate our way through the changing landscape of the disability sector.
We are fortunate that Kaz found her way to scosa. It was on a year long trip around Australia five years ago that she made her way to South Australia when she discovered the beauty of the Fleurieu Peninsula, which she now calls home. Most recently Kaz worked in Adelaide as the Senior Client Services Manager at the MS Society which supports people living with multiple sclerosis.
In her first weeks at scosa, Kaz’s enthusiasm and commitment for her now role has been very evident and she recently commented “I am really looking forward to working with the participants and their families to ensure we are providing services that are making a positive difference in people’s lives. It’s a really exciting time to be working in the disability sector where so much choice and control will sit with participants, and I look forward to evolving our services to meet the specific demands of all who attend scosa.”
